Apple Juice
Hola mi madre,
This week was awesome. We painted a house, juiced apples, invited
others to be baptized, and had exchanges with a zone conference.
Starting with painting a house. The Ontario elders received a
message from someone in Nyssa asking for help, so they referred her to us. We
painted just about all day and talked to her about our purpose as missionaries
and church. It was so much fun to be doing that service. It has now been the
third house I painted on my mission. The first two being in Peru.
Next in the list is the apple juicing. The sisters in Vale had a
family that was gonna need some help so we went out and helped. It was lots of
fun as well. They take the apples and throw them in a wood chipper. Then the
chipped apples get crushed by an air pressure jack. The juice then goes into a
vat and heated to be pasteurized. I ate so many apple pieces after they were
juiced and later that night it wasn't the best.
The next great event in the week was our lesson with our friend
Karen. She is so sweet and kind. I can see the faith she has the desire to
learn more. As we taught her about the gospel of Christ and baptism we invited
her to be baptized. She said she would like to, but would like to learn more. I
am grateful for the opportunity to see the change and desire people have. It
adds to my testimony that the atonement of Christ helps all people feel peace
and joy.
Then we had a zone conference on Thursday, Not much to say from
that except the opportunity to learn how I can be a better missionary and show
others that I care and listen to them. After zone conference we went on
exchanges with the zone leaders. I always enjoy the exchanges cause I am able
to see how other missionaries interact with people and how others teach. There
is always something that can be learned.
That is my week for ya. Getting busier and finding better ways to
share the gospel and help invite others unto Christ. I would like to share this
scripture. Moroni 7:33 And Christ hath said: If ye have faith in me ye shall
have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me. Having faith also takes
actions such as reading our scriptures, praying , or acting upon a prompting we
receive.
Love, Elder Cormack
